During the less than twenty years of its existence, automatic knife gate valve has expanded their usage from ordinary fields to a variety of industries, from coal preparation, debris and ash removal in mining plants, to sewage treatment in cities, and from general industrial pipelines to specialized systems such as food, hygiene, and pharmaceutical pipelines.
Knife gate valves are used for media pipelines carrying mixtures such as slurry, sewage, coal slurry, and cement, containing suspended particles and fiber materials. According to daily work experience, its design principle involves a blade-shaped gate that can cut off fiber-containing media. It is also called a knife gate valve. Knife gate valves can be divided into three types according to their driving mode: manual knife gate valves, electric knife gate valves, and pneumatic knife gate valve. They can also be classified into two types according to their external appearance: stemless gate valves and concealed stem knife gate valves. The valve body of the knife gate valve is generally made of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and cast steel, known for their strength and reliability. With a simple structure, small size, light weight, easy installation, low maintenance cost, and minimal resistance to the material conveyed in the pipeline, the knife gate valve does not have a chamber in its valve body. Therefore, for high-sealing pipeline systems, it needs a circular sealing valve seat to achieve double-sided sealing in the pipeline.
Knife gate valves can be driven in several ways such as manual, chain, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, electric-pneumatic, and hydraulic-pneumatic modes. They can also be controlled manually, pneumatically, electrically or by remote computer. As there is no designed chamber, the normal knife gate valve generally has a forced sealing function. The valve plate is forced onto the valve seat by external forces to achieve sealing performance. If the density of media in the pipeline is of the utmost importance, a stronger "O"-shaped sealing ring can be used to enhance the sealing performance of the valve.
Knife gate valves can be operated manually, pneumatically, electrically or by remote computer, meeting the requirements of various working environments. The new carbon steel design of the valve body is ingenious, saving materials, light in weight, and easy to install, transport and maintain. The baseplate is not designed with grooves to prevent impurities from depositing. Meanwhile, the wear-resistant sealing ring is scientifically designed to vulcanize the rubber ring into the valve body, improving sealing performance and ensuring zero leakage. At the same time, the innovative lifting valve plate design can automatically clean the surface of debris attached to the valve plate. The unique design of the knife gate valve makes it small in size, occupying less space, and with low installation requirements, which make it widely used in industrial production, food manufacturing, medical health, sewage treatment, and other fields, including:
Pulp and paper industry pipelines containing mixtures of wood pulp and paper pulp, etc.
Purification pipelines carrying slurry, sewage, etc.
Dust removal, filter residue, washing coal, and pipelines used in the mining industry.
